Everything I was looking for in a Podcast!

A casual, scene-by-scene look at horror movies with an honest and unabashed opinion was exactly what I was looking for when I found this podcast!

Nicoh, Mike, Bryan and Dustin all have different preferences when it comes to horror, so the conversations are never one-sided. The hosts are each passionate about their own favourite franchises, which leads to some fun back and forth. 

If you don’t feel like listening to a full-length movie review, there are plenty of interview episodes, or you can check out a franchise rankings video where the guys rank all of the movies in a franchise from poorest to best. 

What I really enjoy about this podcast is the range of movies that are covered. From the original Friday the 13th (1980) to the latest Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie (2022) - the guys don’t shy away from the classics or new releases. The hosts also aren’t afraid to cover movies that are not traditionally considered “horror” movies - see “Law Abiding Citizen” - or movies that overall are just weird - see “Rubber”. 

The format is simple and consistent - Nicoh elaborates on a few scenes at a time and then opens the floor to Bryan, Mike and Dustin for discussion until they reach the end of the movie. At the end the guys discuss their final thoughts, fun facts about the movie and give the film a rating out of 10. 

As opposed to some other podcasts that stray a bit off topic, the DGOT guys are great at staying on track. The episodes aren’t full of unrelated banter or ads, and the runtime is just right.  If you’re looking for a horror movie review podcast that is both in-depth and hilarious, this is it!
