Starting to feel normal again….
2020 was one hell of a year and that’s saying it lightly. We were all looking forward to 2021 with a hope of normalcy again. It’s starting to happen for a lot of the country. For us horror fans it was quite devastating for all of us to have so many big time horror movies to be delayed due to Covid. September 28, 2020 we had the utmost privilege of having the great Lin Shaye on our podcast for an interview to promote her new film "The Call". Luckily the movie theatre in Valdosta Georgia had opened up with a reduced capacity and I got to go see that film in the theater. It was very nice to be in that chair with popcorn but there was only a couple others there with me. It was a step towards normalcy but not the same.
Fast forward to May 15th 2021, myself and friend of the show, Hunter Nelson, got to meet and go see “Spiral: From The Book Of Saw” together. It was so refreshing to pull into that parking lot and see a decent amount of cars there to see a movie. I got to meet a big fan of the show and we got to see a highly anticipated horror movie with a decent crowd. It felt like old times in there. Let’s fast forward one more time…
Now it’s June 5th 2021 and me and my girlfriend are in the car headed back to the movie theater. Off to see the highly anticipated “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” I’m not gonna speak on how I felt about either of these movies. We’ll be doing in depth film reviews so just check those out for our thoughts! Any who I just wanted to share how great it felt to walk into a theater, smell the popcorn, hand over the tickets to the usher. So many people said it’s on HBO Max, which I already knew, but a movie you really wanna see hits different for an individual in the movies. Some of my all time favorites I watched at the movies and they’ve stuck with me forever.
I wrote this to say I highly encourage all of you to go see a movie in the theater and support our favorite actors and actresses. I completely understand if you’re still cautious, I just wanted to share how great it felt to sit in one of those relaxing seats and watch a horror movie on the big screen. Halloween Kills is up next!
